Clarksburg CAN is a bimonthly food pantry that provides supplemental food items to clients who live in the 20871 zip code or have students who attend school in this zip code area. As we navigate the challenges posed by the spread of COVID-19, the Board Members of Clarksburg CAN remain committed to supporting the community that relies on us for food supplements. The people we serve are our neighbors, friends, family, church members, and "strangers" that need our help. As such, we plan to remain open for our regular hours, which include the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the first Tuesday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Unfortunately, in order to provide an increase in safety measures, we have had to make adjustments to the way we serve our clients. As such, clients will no longer be coming in to the pantry to pick up their boxes of food. Instead, we will be offering a curbside pickup service, where clients will stay in their vehicles and pantry volunteers will place pre-packaged boxes of food on the pantry steps for them to pick up as they arrive. Also, our volunteers will be wearing face masks and social distancing to keep our community safe and help prevent the spread of the pandemic.
If you will be visiting the pantry and are a new client, our volunteers will ask your name and the city where you reside. (There is no need to provide an ID and proof of residency, at this time.) We will then provide you with a pre-packaged box of food containing a variety of food items, based on our current inventory. While the exact contents included in each box might vary based on our current stock of food, below you will find sample list of items that might be included. |
